If I register my business in the US, do I automatically need to pay taxes?

Updated over 7 months ago

No. Just because your business is registered in the US, it does not mean you'll need to pay taxes.

If your business is setup as an LLC and you meet all of the following criteria:

  • You’re not a US resident or citizen

  • Don't have employees or operate within the US

  • Don't have a physical US office with American employees

  • Don't operate a brick and mortar business

Then you are not a US tax resident and are generally not required to pay taxes in the US.

Keep in mind, your business will still need to file annual tax returns as a non-resident.
