What is a proof of funds letter?
Updated over a week ago

A proof of funds letter for international students or workers typically serves as evidence that you have sufficient financial resources to cover your living expenses while studying or working in the US. It’s often required as part of your visa application or upon entry into the US, such as when speaking with US Customs and Border Protection officials at an airport or border crossing.

A proof of funds letter from Adro confirms your available account balance in US dollars. You can download this letter as a PDF from your account once you have deposited money into Adro.

How do I download a proof of funds letter?

In order to download your proof of funds letter, you must have money in your Adro account. You can download this letter at any time by logging in.

  1. Login to your account

  2. Navigate to 'Settings' or click the gear icon

  3. Click on 'Proof of funds'

  4. A PDF file will appear. You can download the file to save it to your device.

What does the proof of funds letter include?

  • Your first and last name

  • Date of the letter

  • Adro's contact information

  • Your account number(s)

  • Current account balance

When can I download my proof of funds after opening an account?

Once you have finished opening an Adro account, you'll need to make a deposit. Depending on the method you choose, it may take a few days to receive the funds from your other bank into Adro.

Once your Adro account balance has updated to reflect money in your account (in other words, the balance is greater than $0.00), you can download your proof of funds letter.

Please note, you will not be able to spend or withdraw any money from your Adro account until you have arrived in the US.
