How to move money from a US bank

Set up and initiate transfers from your other US account to Adro

This article provides instructions on how to move money between your other US bank accounts into Adro. The other US account must be in your name, and not from the account of a friend or family member.

In general, you'll need to first add Adro to your other bank. The good news is, you'll only have to do this once! Once that is set up, you can initiate a transfer.

Where to find your Adro routing and account numbers

You may need to provide your Adro routing and account numbers to your other bank to set up the link.

You can find this information by:

  1. Logging in to your Adro account

  2. Navigate to Checking account

  3. Click 'Account details.' If you're using the mobile app, click 'More' then 'Account details'


How to move money from Bank of America

First, add Adro as an external bank to your Bank of America account. You only have to do this once.

  1. Under the 'Pay & Transfer' menu, select 'Send a wire/external transfer' (or tap the 'Wire/ACH' button in the mobile app)

  2. Tap 'Add Account/Recipient'

  3. Select 'Domestic', then 'My personal account at another bank (only transfers to)'.

  4. Enter your Adro account details, which includes your routing number, account number and billing address

  5. Check 'Verify your identity'

  6. Enter the verification code sent to your phone then tap 'Add Account'

Once you've added Adro to your Bank of America account, initiate a transfer.

  1. Under the 'Pay & Transfer' menu, select 'Send a wire/external transfer' (or tap the 'Wire/ACH' button in the mobile app)

  2. Fill in the details for your transfer in the 'Make a Transfer' tab

  3. Select your Bank of America checking account for 'From'

  4. Select your Adro (or Stearns Bank N.A.) account for 'To'

  5. Pick '3 business days' or 'Next business day', via ACH. Do not select the 'Same business day Wire Transfer' option, as this is not supported.

  6. Enter the dollar amount, frequency, then tap 'Continue Transfer'

  7. Tap 'Make Transfer'


How to move money from Citibank

First, add Adro as an external bank to your Citibank account. You only have to do this once.

  1. Login and tap 'Payments & Transfers'

  2. Tap 'Your External Accounts' then 'Add External Account'

  3. Use Plaid to link your Adro account. From the list of institutions, search for 'Adro' and follow the instructions.

Once you've added Adro to your Citibank account, initiate a transfer.

  1. Login to citi.com and tap 'Your External Accounts'

  2. In the “Transfer To” field, select your linked Adro account. Enter the dollar amount and confirm the transfer.


How to move money from JPMorgan Chase

First, add Adro as an external bank to your Chase account. You only have to do this once.

  1. Login using the Chase mobile app.

  2. Tap 'Pay & transfer' on the bottom navigation bar, then select 'Transfer'

  3. Tap 'Transfer from' and then select your Chase account.

  4. Tap 'Transfer to', select 'Choose an account', and then select 'Add an external account'

  5. At the bottom of the screen, tap 'Add account manually'

  6. Enter your Adro routing number and account number.

  7. Review your routing and account information. The 'Bank name' will display as 'Stearns Bank N.A.' which is Adro's sponsor bank. Tap 'Next'

  8. Check the box to confirm you are the Adro account holder, then select 'Confirm'

Once you've received two deposits from JPMorgan Chase to your Adro account, complete the account verification.

  1. Login using the Chase mobile app.

  2. Tap 'Pay & transfer' on the bottom navigation bar

  3. Select 'Settings', then 'External Account Transfers'

  4. Under Manage External Accounts, select your Adro account ('Pending verification')

  5. Tap 'Verify account' and enter the amount of the two deposits that appeared in your Adro account, and then tap 'Verify', and 'Done'.

Once you've added Adro to your JPMorgan Chase account, initiate a transfer.

  1. Login using the Chase mobile app.

  2. Tap 'Pay & transfer' on the bottom navigation bar

  3. Select your Adro account from the list of external accounts, and fill in the remaining transfer details.


How to move money from Wells Fargo

First, add Adro as an external bank to your Wells Fargo account. You only have to do this once.

  1. Login to your Wells Fargo account

  2. Tap the 'Pay & Transfer' tab, then select 'Transfer'

  3. Select To / Select Account, then tap 'Add non-Wells Fargo Account'

  4. Complete the form. Be sure to check the box that says 'I am the owner of this non-Wells Fargo Account'

  5. Select Account type: 'Personal checking.' For Account use, choose 'Transfer & Payments.' Add your Adro account number and routing number, then press 'Continue'

  6. You will see the Financial Institution listed as 'Stearns Bank N.A.' This is Adro's sponsor bank and is correct.

  7. Tap 'Add account.' You'll see 'Next Step: Trial deposits'

Once you've received two deposits from Wells Fargo to your Adro account, complete the account verification.

  1. Login to your Wells Fargo account

  2. Tap the 'Pay & Transfer' tab, then select 'Transfer.' There should be an orange box stating that you have an account pending verification.

  3. Tap 'Enter Trial Deposits.' Enter the amounts of the two small deposits sent by Wells Fargo to your Adro account.

Once you've added Adro to your Wells Fargo account, initiate a transfer.

  1. Login to your Wells Fargo account

  2. Tap the 'Pay & Transfer' tab, then select 'Transfer.'

  3. Select your linked Adro (Stearns Bank N.A) account for "To" and fill in the remaining transfer details.


How to move money from another US bank

First, add Adro as an external bank to your other US bank account. You only have to do this once.

  1. Login to your other US bank account

  2. Look for a link that says 'Transfer,' 'Payments,' 'Move money' or anything along those lines.

  3. Look for a link that says 'Add an external account' or 'Link another account' or anything along those lines

  4. Follow your other bank's instructions. You will either need to add your Adro routing and account numbers, or login to your Adro account from within your other bank's website.

  5. In some cases, the Adro account may be shown as 'Stearns Bank N.A.' which is Adro's sponsor bank. This is correct.

  6. Depending on your bank, they may require a trial deposit (sometimes called microdeposit) to verify that you own the Adro account you are trying to add. The other bank will send two small deposits to your Adro account, which could take between one to three business days to arrive. Enter those two amounts into your online banking or banking app to complete the verification process.

Once you've added Adro to your other US bank account, initiate a transfer.

Once verified, you Adro account will appear in your other bank's online banking or mobile app as one of the options to transfer to. Delivery time and fees will vary, and depend on your other bank's policies.
